2022 was some year. We all know what effect covid lockdowns & restrictions had on weddings and events in 2020 and the first half of 2021: 18 months of cancelled/postponed events was just awful but we were so grateful to our couples who planned, re-planned - and planned again - their weddings and celebrations, in some cases nearly five years between the original booking and finally tying the knot! What a great example of determination in our couples, liaising with suppliers, venues and Undercovered’s calendar, to ensure they could have the wedding they had dreamed of, with the suppliers they had always wanted. Even if it meant their wedding was on a random Tuesday night! Honestly, we are so honoured that people choose their date based on our availability, rather than just booking another band. That says a lot about the reputation we have built over the last 12 years. We don’t take that for granted one bit. WE SAID YES! We don’t like turning anyone away. The knock-on effect of covid-related postponements meant there had been so many more events for us to squeeze in to 2022, in addition to the bookings we had already taken (most couples book 12-18 months in advance). Peak wedding season quite literally peaked and the ‘off-season’ never quietened, with November being the busiest November we have ever had in nearly 12 years! …BUT WE DID IT! Not only did we do it but we were able to offer more than we have ever done before. We introduced new packages and more music services, more wedding ceremonies, more drinks receptions, more songs, more excitement, more memories…and more coffee needed to get through it!
There was the small matter of band members catching COVID at various points which created some last-minute alterations to songs and lineups, however the Undercovered team has got to be up there with the best for pulling together and making it work. We can proudly say we fulfilled 100% of our events, never having to cancel once!
As a result we went on to win an award for Best Live Music at the North of England Wedding Awards 2022, as voted for by real couples - not only for the entertainment we provide but also for the level of customer service we give to everyone who books Undercovered.
In addition, we were inspected by 'Three Best Rated' - a company that helps customers find the best businesses in every industry through a 50-point inspection (almost like a mystery shop) and decided Undercovered were one of THE best wedding bands in the area! WOW!
2022’s MEMORABLE MOMENTS
We have to start with winning the award, as mentioned above. All our hard work received industry recognition - and a great awards ceremony too!
Performing for the RAF in an actual secret aircraft hangar with the real Top Guns;
The Queen’s Jubilee - an open air gig in Harrogate, the last of its kind, and a rare public event which meant friends, families and new audiences could see Undercovered’s 4pc in action.
The launch of our new music services for drinks receptions and more intimate evening parties. These included solo pianist, a jazz duo and solo singer-guitarist which proved very popular in 2022 and created some very emotional moments during wedding ceremonies and drinks receptions;
THE hottest wedding of the year (on the eve of the 40° heatwave);
Being joined on stage by Jim Sharrock, the drummer from The Lightning Seeds, for our rendition of ’Three Lions’ during the World Cup!

In 2023 we have ambitions to make Undercovered even more synonymous with entertainment, with good times, with feel-good moments. The brand you can rely on to ensure you and your closest friends & family talk about "that night" for years to come.
We have a new website launching soon, new stage attire (you may have seen a preview of this over December) and of course, we are always revamping our setlist to stay current and popular so you never get bored!
We are also going to introduce something very special which will mean a great deal to married couples in particular. Watch this space for more details…
